Medway Wedding Photographer

Capturing Your Wedding in Medway

Congratulations on your engagement! Medway, with its rich history…

Medway doesn’t always get the credit it deserves. Rochester in particular is genuinely beautiful — the cathedral, the castle, the high street that still has real independent character. Chatham Dockyard is one of the most distinctive wedding settings anywhere in Kent. I’ve photographed weddings across the whole area and it consistently delivers.

How I Work on Your Wedding Day

My approach is documentary — I work quietly through your day, staying out of the way and letting things happen naturally. I’m not going to pause your wedding every ten minutes for formal shots. I’ll be there from getting ready through to the dancing, catching real moments as they unfold. I do a short couples portrait session — usually around golden hour — but beyond that, it’s all captured as it happens.

Relaxed. Unscripted. Honestly documented.

Choosing the perfect wedding venue in Medway

Medway has some genuinely distinctive wedding venues — historic, unusual, worth considering if you want something with real character. Here are three I know well.

1. Rochester Cathedral

Rochester Cathedral is one of the most iconic and historic wedding venues in Medway. With its stunning architecture, soaring ceilings, and beautiful stained glass windows, it provides a breathtaking setting for your wedding ceremony. The cathedral’s grandeur and elegance make it ideal for couples seeking a traditional and memorable wedding experience. Its central location in Rochester also offers easy access to beautiful photo spots around the town, and easy transport links for the wedding reception location.

The bride, in a white dress with a long train, gazes at the groom. A clergyman in a cream robe stands before them as the Medway wedding photographer captures every moment. 2. The Vines of Rochester

The Vines of Rochester is a charming and unique wedding venue set amidst beautifully landscaped gardens. Known for its elegant and picturesque setting, it offers a beautiful backdrop for your ceremony and reception. The venue’s intimate atmosphere and historic character make it a perfect choice for couples looking for a romantic and tranquil wedding location. Its proximity to Rochester Castle and the River Medway provides stunning photo opportunities.

Chatham Dockyard offers a unique and versatile setting for your wedding. With options like the elegant Commissioner’s House, featuring beautiful period rooms and gardens, or the historic HMS Gannet, a Victorian warship, this venue is perfect for couples seeking something distinctive. The dockyard’s blend of maritime heritage and modern amenities ensures a memorable and picturesque wedding day.
