Engagement & Pre-Wedding Photography in Kent
Most couples who book an engagement shoot with me say the same thing beforehand: “We’re not really photo people.”
By the end of the session, they forget I’m there. That’s the whole point. My engagement and pre-wedding shoots aren’t about nailing the perfect pose or standing awkwardly in a field while I bark directions. They’re about spending an hour or two somewhere you actually like, doing things that feel natural, while I quietly document what happens. The photos look real because they are.
If you’re planning a wedding in Kent and you’re even slightly nervous about being photographed, an engagement shoot is the best thing you can do — not because you need to practise posing, but because it means your wedding day isn’t the first time we’ve hung out. By the time we get to your big day, I’m not a stranger with a camera. I’m someone you already trust.

Want to know what a session actually feels like? Watch the behind-the-scenes video above — it’ll give you a much better sense of how I work than anything I could write here.
Why do an engagement shoot in Kent?
Kent gives you incredible variety in a small area. Chalk cliffs, beaches, country estates, city streets, woodland — whatever feels like you, we can find it. I know the county well and I’m happy to suggest locations based on what you’re into, or we can shoot somewhere that means something to you both — where you met, where you had your first date, wherever feels right.
The practical benefits are real too. Engagement photos are perfect for save-the-dates, wedding websites, guest books, and invitations. But honestly, most couples say the biggest benefit is just feeling ready — walking into their wedding day knowing exactly what it feels like to be photographed by me, and knowing it was actually fun.

A few things worth knowing before we shoot
Wear something you feel good in — not what you think looks “engagement-photoy.” If you’re comfortable, it shows. Bring a second outfit if you want variety. Think about a location that means something to you rather than just somewhere that looks nice on Instagram. And plan for golden hour if you can — the hour before sunset is always worth it.
