Broadstairs Wedding Photographer
So you’re getting married in Broadstairs — brilliant choice. I’m James, based just along the coast in Ramsgate, and I’ve been photographing weddings in and around Broadstairs for years. I know this town well, I love shooting here, and I’d genuinely love to be part of your day.
Getting married in Broadstairs
Broadstairs is one of those places that doesn’t need much help looking good. The coastline, the Victorian architecture, the sandy bays — it all photographs beautifully. What makes it special as a wedding location is that it’s genuinely charming rather than just pretty for photos. Couples who get married here tend to love the town itself, and that warmth shows in the pictures.
Growing up near Broadstairs, I’ve watched it become one of Kent’s most sought-after wedding destinations, and I can see exactly why. The light here on a summer evening is something else.
About me

I’m James, and I’ve been photographing weddings for over a decade. My approach is simple — I’m not there to direct you or put you in poses you’ll cringe at in ten years. I’m there to document your day as it actually happens, catch the moments between moments, and make sure you both feel completely relaxed in front of the camera.
If you’ve ever said “I’m not photogenic” or “I hate having my photo taken” — you’re exactly the kind of couple I work best with.

“Choosing James was the best decision! From the moment we made contact with him we knew he was the right photographer for us. He made us feel so relaxed and at ease. The candid photos capture our wedding weekend perfectly, we couldn’t have asked for better! ”

Beach Wedding Photography
Broadstairs is full of spots that make for stunning wedding portraits. Here are my favourites:Viking Bay — the golden sands and iconic striped beach huts make this the classic Broadstairs backdrop. Beautiful at any time of day, but particularly good in evening light.
Bleak House — overlooking the sea, this historic cliff-top building adds drama and elegance to portrait shots that you simply can’t get elsewhere.
Broadstairs Promenade — great for capturing the town’s atmosphere and energy, especially around sunset when the light hits the water.
Louisa Bay — quieter and more tucked away than Viking Bay, ideal for intimate couple portraits away from the crowds.
Victoria Gardens — lush gardens with views over the bay, perfect if you want something green and natural rather than purely coastal.
The Cliffside Paths — for couples who want something a bit more dramatic, the clifftop walks offer sweeping panoramic views that make for genuinely breathtaking photos.
