Selens MN-DF Magnetic Sphere Review

Review - Selens MN-DF Magnetic Silicone Sphere Diffuser in Wedding Photography

Magmod is a pretty big name in the photographer world. They create amazing attachments for speedlights, which help control the light to the photographers taste. This can be spreading the light all over the place (magmod magbounce) all the way down to controlling the light into a tiny area (mag beam). Now with their amazing reputation, comes with not as amazing prices. I'm not saying in any way, shape or form that these prices are not justified. The products clearly provide amazing value, you can see this from their reviews.

After deciding on magmod, I noticed Selens do a similar product on amazon, linked here. Being a tenth of the price I thought….wheres the harm in trying it out. It's actually pretty good. The magnet's aren't as strong as the Magmod sphere, which I'm guessing the Selens lightsphere it based on, but I'm pretty sure having owned both, they both do pretty much the same job.

I have taken various photos with my Nikon z6Tamron 35mm f1.8 sp vc, my Godox AD200 and Godox v860ii as you can see below. I've included little lighting diagrams and the settings I used

f2.8 1/100th second ISO 800
